Questions and Answers

Does the included Trackpac subscription cover the lifetime of the purchased Sticker-tracker or is it in any way time-based? Thanks.
The Trackpac license cover the lifetime of the device. It is guaranteed to work for 1 year with one hour uplink interval.

Hello again, i have another question. Does the Tracker work via GPS or Triangulation between several Gateways? Are there more technical Information about the device? kind regards, Daniel Sauer.
Hi Daniel,
The RAK2270 Sticker Tracker has no GPS but uses Gateway location data to estimate the sticker location.
You can learn more the RAK2270 LoRaWAN Sticker in our documentation page - https://docs.rakwireless.com/Product-Categories/WisNode/RAK2270/

Hello, i want to Track Assets. We already have our own LNS and our own LoRaWAN Gateways. Do i only have to choose the "Generic" Version and Register the Sticker in our LNS and then use the NovaLabs or Trackpac Application to show the Position of the Asset? Or is it possible to use other Software (Application Server) to show the GeoLocation? Wich are the Payload Information that are transmitted of the Sticker? kind regards, Daniel Sauer.
Hi,
If you will use your own LNS and IoT application platform for the RAK2270 LoRaWAN Sticker, you need to select the RAK2270-Generic variant. We will provide you the needed OTAA credentials. If you want to use specific JOINEUI and DEVEUI, we can also onboard those parameters during production.
The payload of RAK2270 is based on CayenneLPP.

1. Can we get this GPS data indoors as well? or is it only working outdoors? 2. Is the data log feature available while the network is down, and should the data be stored in the internal memory?
Hi,
These are the answer to your inquiries:
1. There is no GPS data on the RAK2270. It estimates the location based on the location data of the Gateways.
2. Offline datalog is not available at the moment on the open-source firmware. It is possible though by logging the data on internal flash of the MCU of RAK2270. This is something that can be done by the user by extending the open source code of RAK2270. It can be found here https://github.com/RAKWireless/RAK2270-Sticker-Tracker/tree/main/Firmware. For any custom FW done by customer, we can assist uploading those to their sticker order during production.

Hi! What is the estimation life-span of the battery? It's hours or days? Thank you.
The RAK2270 LoRaWAN Sticker battery life will last for at least 1-year of operation with the default 1-hour uplink interval.
The uplink interval can be changed via Downlink command. The faster the interval, the faster is the battery will be drained. On the other hand, making the uplink transmission in longer interval will prolong the battery life better.
You can check here the battery life calculation - https://github.com/RAKWireless/RAK2270-Sticker-Tracker/blob/main/RAK2270%20Estimate%20Battery%20Life%20V1.xlsx

From where do we get the location data ? We couldn't find any info related to that in the Payload - https://github.com/RAKWireless/RAK2270-Sticker-Tracker/tree/main/Firmware#uplink-payload-format
The location of the RAK2270 LoRaWAN Tracker Sticker is based on the location of the gateways and being handled in the backend of the solution provider. This can be done by our partner Trackpac, by other platforms like datacake or by your own in-house solution. It doesn't have a built-in GPS so the location is not part of the payload.
