Designed for optimal antenna positioning in urban or rural environments, this comprehensive solution combines an antenna extension cable with essential lightning protection measures. Perfect for areas where the antenna is located at a higher elevation, this deployment type ensures superior connectivity while safeguarding your equipment from the dangers of lightning strikes.
With our Extended Position Antenna Kit + Lightning Protection Bundle, you can easily extend the connection between your antennas and the hotspot using the high-quality Pulsar cable. This allows you to position your antennas precisely where they can capture the strongest signal. Whether you need to raise your antennas to overcome obstructions or place them strategically for maximum coverage, the Pulsar cable provides the flexibility to optimize the Chirp network.
Securing your antennas is a breeze with the included A-fix brackets. These brackets offer robust support, ensuring that your antennas remain securely in place, even in challenging outdoor conditions.
In addition to improved positioning, our bundle features lightning protection measures to safeguard your Chirp Gateway. Lightning arrestors are included, mounted between each antenna and the gateway, and grounded to a dedicated grounding rail using the provided grounding wires. This crucial step redirects any potential lightning strikes away from your equipment, protecting it from damage and ensuring uninterrupted operation.
For enhanced protection, we offer the option to include a Surge Protective Device (SPD) in your bundle. Positioned between the gateway and the Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector, the SPD acts as an additional safeguard against transient surges. Position the SPD indoors and connect it to the grounding system to ensure optimal performance.
The bundle includes our top-of-the-line LoRa antenna, available with various gain options such as 8dBi or 5.8dBi fiberglass antennas optimized for the 900-930MHz and 858-878MHz. Choose the antenna that best suits your requirements and enjoy exceptional performance and reliability.
What antenna to choose?
Chirp Gateway original come with 5dbi LoRa Sub-G Antenna and LoRa 2.4G antenna. If you want to only extend the position of the default antennas, select the Without LoRa antenna option.
Based on your location and the closeness of the Chirp Gateway you can choose the 5.8dBi antenna if the other Hotspots are nearby as you will be able to provide more reliable network coverage. You can choose the 8dBi antenna if there are no other Chirp Gateway close to you, to provide long-range coverage for the IoT devices.
