Use Case 1: Basic Environmental Sensor (Temperature, Humidity, Motion, Light, TVOC, Barometric Pressure, Carbon Dioxide, PM2.5 & PM10)
Application: Smart Home Environment Monitoring This use case involves utilizing the basic sensor parameters to maintain a comfortable, healthy, and energy-efficient home environment. The sensors can monitor temperature and humidity to ensure optimal living conditions, detect motion for security and automated lighting, and measure light levels for circadian rhythm regulation. TVOC and carbon dioxide levels are monitored to ensure good air quality, reducing health risks and enhancing sleep quality. Particulate matter (PM2.5 & PM10) monitoring helps in reducing exposure to harmful airborne particles, especially crucial for individuals with respiratory issues. Barometric pressure data can be used for personal weather stations and to predict weather-related changes in the home environment.
Use Case 2: Basic Environmental Sensor + Formaldehyde (HCHO)
Application: Health and Safety in New Buildings and Renovations This use case extends the basic sensor's capabilities with the addition of formaldehyde monitoring, ideal for new buildings, renovations, or newly furnished homes. Formaldehyde, a common volatile organic compound, is often found in building materials and furniture. Prolonged exposure can lead to health issues. The enhanced sensor can continuously monitor HCHO levels, ensuring they stay within safe limits, particularly important during the initial period following construction or renovation. This is vital in environments like new homes, schools, daycare centers, and healthcare facilities where indoor air quality directly affects occupant health.
Use Case 3: Basic Environmental Sensor + Ozone
Application: Urban Air Quality and Industrial Emission Control In this use case, the basic sensor array is supplemented with an ozone sensor, making it highly effective for monitoring urban air quality and controlling industrial emissions. Ozone is a key pollutant in urban smog and can have severe health impacts, especially on the respiratory system. This enhanced sensor setup is ideal for environmental monitoring stations in cities to track air quality trends and issue health advisories. It's also crucial in industrial settings, where monitoring ozone emissions is necessary to comply with environmental regulations and to protect worker health. The sensor can provide real-time data to inform policy decisions and public awareness initiatives regarding air quality.
