What Is the RAK13302 1W Module for LoRa?
The RAK13302 LoRa module is a 1W LoRa Transceiver module that is compatible with Meshtastic, LoRa P2P and LoRaWAN. It is designed to extend communication range with amplified RF transmission power. The module fits on the Wisblock IO slot (only compatible with RAK3401 WisBlock Core), RAK6421 RPi WisBlock HAT and WisGate Connect IO slot.
It is built on the Semtech SX1262 module for LoRa, and adds a SKY66122 booster LoRa front-end connectivity. It also has an integrated RF filter stage to deliver 1W transmission power with improved receiver sensitivity. The results in longer range, more stable links, and stronger mesh reliability.
Due to its higher power consumption, the RAK13302 1W Module for LoRa requires a 5 V supply and cannot operate from 3.3 V alone. You can use the following power options:
- Using a battery with the WisBlock Base Board (Recommended to have USB or Solar Charging 5V for continuous operation).
- External 5 V supply via its power connector
Note: This module is approved for the US915 LoRaWAN® band (United States). Due to transmission power restrictions in other regions (e.g.EU), the 800MHz variant should not be used with the possible maximum transmission power.
