Product Description

The RAK4630 WisDuo stamp module delivers a powerful Nordic nRF52840 MCU with BLE 5.0 paired to the latest SX1262 LoRa® transceivers from Semtech series.

Compared to the older SX127x series the Semtech SX1262 transceivers offer improved power consumption and the improved power amplifier can now transmit at up to +22dBm, with a total link budget up to 170dB for extended communication range. This makes the RAK4631 our best ever long range capable, ultra-low-power communication solution.

Designed for global deployment, the RAK4630 WisDuo stamp module comes in two variants, RAK4630(H) supporting ISM bands from 779-923MHz, including those typically used in Europe, USA, India, and the RAK4630(L) variant for the 433-470Mhz bands aimed at China and 433Mhz specific deployments.

The module also includes a temperature-controlled crystal oscillator (TXCO) for correct operation across a wide range of temperature and bandwidth requirements as well as multiple communication interfaces including UARTs, I2C, SPI, ADC, USB and GPIOs.

The module complies with Class A, ClassB, Class C of LoRaWAN 1.0.3 specifications, and it also supports LoRa Point to Point (P2P) communications. The module is suitable for various applications that require long-range data acquisition and low power consumption, such as smart meters, supply chain and logistics tracking, agricultural sensors, and smart cities.

You can configure the mode and operation of the RAK4630 module using RAK4630 AT Commands via a UART interface or over BLE. Also, it offers low-power features that are very suitable for battery-powered applications.

The AT command firmware of the RAK4630 is based on our RUI3. You can as well write your own firmware using our powerful RUI3 API.

  • Hello! Is it also possible to flash the device with a custom firmware? Built with the nrf connect sdk for instance, or is the mcu upload protected? Kind regards

    Hello Jakob,

    The device is open, you can flash a custom firmware without any restrictions.

    We offer support for the Arduino BSP, our RUI3 BSP, but you can use nRF Connect SDK and Zephyr as well.
