How to Get Started with WisGate Connect for mioty

Frequently Asked Questions

What is mioty?

mioty, based on Fraunhofer IIS's patented Telegram Splitting technology, divides messages into multiple sub-packets transmitted at different times and frequencies with low time on air (ToA), reducing interference and enabling low Packet Error Rates (PER) and high network capacity.

What is the difference between mioty and LoRaWAN?

mioty and LoRaWAN are both LPWAN (Low-Power, Wide-Area Network) protocols, but they have distinct differences:

mioty uses Telegram Splitting technology, which splits messages into sub-packets and transmits them over multiple frequencies and times. This reduces interference and ensures robust communication in dense environments. LoRa uses chirp spread spectrum modulation, which is effective for long-range communication but may face more interference in dense networks.

How do I utilize the features of WisGate Connect for mioty in my deployment?

  • Multi-Protocol Support: Leverage the Mini PCIe and M.2 slots to integrate additional radio modules as needed.
  • Flexible Power Options: Choose the power supply method that best fits your deployment scenario, whether it's direct DC input or PoE+.
  • Backhaul Connectivity: Configure the gateway to use the most reliable backhaul option available, ensuring consistent data transmission.
